Illinois Race Weekend

2024 CC Illinois Race Weekend April 25-27 2024

The Christie Clinic Illinois Marathon brings a full lineup of races and events to Champaign each spring, this year occurring April 25-27.

Notes to remember for this year:

  • Road Closures: Beginning Thursday, April 25, several roads in Urbana, Champaign and Savoy will be temporarily closed to accommodate the races. For detailed maps of affected streets, the weekend event schedule, navigation tips and more, please refer to the Illinois Marathon website.
  • Changes to Bus Routes: Due to these road closures, some bus routes may experience temporary alterations. Stay updated by checking with the Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District for any changes to your regular routes.
  • New Marathon Route: A new marathon route will guide participants through Urbana, Champaign and Savoy, ending at Memorial Stadium.

The marathon race starts at the State Farm Center and ends at Memorial Stadium. Major roads on the course include Prospect Avenue in Champaign and Savoy; Green Street in Champaign, Campustown, and Urbana; and Race Street in Urbana. The race website has a link to the PDF course map at https://illinoismarathon.com/races/marathon. Expect route closures and delays. Consider taking an alternate route if you’re trying to get across or around the race route and various venues.
