Assoc. Dir. for Shared Administrative Services, Information Technology

ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR FOR SHARED ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SERVICES
FACILITIES & SERVICES
UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS AT URBANA‐CHAMPAIGN

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement strategic plans for information technology applications
and services for the unit.
- Develop and implement administrative and operational policies and procedures.
- Direct complex projects related to new information technology applications and
services.
- Manage the training, professional development, and management of work
assigned to professional and technical support staff of 15‐20 people.
- Provide leadership and supervision for the unit.
- Responsible for the maintenance and support of a large network of over 750
desktop computers, servers and mobile devices.
- Oversee the acquisition, development and support of over 15 integrated and
stand‐alone software applications used within F&S. These applications include
cost accounting, finance, payroll, work order management, storerooms,
- Determine IT Section funding needs, determine appropriate expenditures, and
provide reports for administrative review.
- Define metrics and measures of effectiveness for F&S Information Technology
Services.
- Maintain IT business continuity plan for Facilities & Services.
- Participate in campus IT governance committees.

A Bachelor’s degree is required with a minimum of 5 yrs of IT department management
experience; 2 years of IT Project Management experience leading successful project
teams is preferred. Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
Experience documenting process, policy and service definitions in a complex IT
environment. Experience handling incident management in complex IT environments.
Understand change management and experience leading to a successful outcome.
This is a full‐time academic professional position. Anticipated start date is as soon as
possible following the closing date. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and
